Does anyone else feel like the Church is weirdly obsessed with dying young?

You said 'if you stalked me properly'. Spare me of this disingenuousness, you know what I meant. You said you were close to becoming a catechumen in an Orthodox space so I interpreted it in the Orthodox way. If I got it wrong then I apologise, but I don't consider that unreasonable.

I find it interesting that your only response to my criticisms is that 'Orthodoxy is not just Greek or Russian'. Thanks for that lesson in a religion I used to belong to. Many churches are corrupt, but not all churches endorse fascist organisations that ordered the murders of leftists and immigrants. Not all churches actively campaign for the beating of wives to be legal. Not all churches tell women to cover their hair because it's 'distracting' but then adorn their churches in gold and finery. Not all churches endorse dictators. Too many - maybe not you, but many - people convert to Orthodoxy because they like that it's ceremonial and traditional. It's this 'tradition' that has hurt many and led to crisis.
