Does anyone else here struggle with food addiction? How do you handle it?

I'm calling BS on this...you're trying to convince others that all you binge and consume is "healthy" nonprocessed stuff? Yea right...you don't get a binge disorder consuming just grain and breads. It's the added crap of refined sugar and processed foods of the salty greasy sometimes awesomely tasting variety that you inexplicably pop in your body during those bored moments. Youre not being honest even now when you're seeking advice.

My guess is you're feeling guilty with the time off the new year and just want to be able to say or convince yourself that your "made an effort" about losing weight. So when you inevitably backslide into your old habits you get to assuage your behavior on someone else.

You have signs of an addiction sure, but to me none of your comments convey or even remotely express that your are holding yourself responsible for your behavior. You are the one choosing to eat and binge. It's not the food, it's not the situation, it's 100% you.

You want to break the cycle? Frigging be honest with yourself, track what you eat (calories in/out), and stop blaming someone or something else. Realize it's going to be difficult, will suck for a while, accept it and move on. You didn't get fat overnight and it sure as hell won't come off that quickly either. You are going to be rewiring your physical mental and emotional behavior and if this truly an addiction means you take it one day at a time.
