Does anyone else have a problem with anime’s treatment of women?

is there a male counterpart term for fujoshi

Yes, it's fudanshi. Do note that these words are wildly used in the Japanese fandom, where they stem from wordplay based on the Japanese language.

Much like it happens with a lot of Japanese terminology, when imported into the west it's meaning might become twisted. See "Yaoi", for one.

Fujoshis, or fundashi (these are a minority) are people overly obsessed with the fictionalized idea of how gay relationship should work (abusive partner vs submissive partner, sex based on sexual assault) that are extremely vocal about it.

As other pointed out, in the west fujoshi is mostly a reclaimed term.

Think of them like the opposite version of the guy who ships any woman with any other woman, having an absolutely unrealistic idea of how lesbian sex or relationship works.
