Does anyone else find the white culture here not inclusive?

What’s the expectation?

I think we all know how this works in a normal 1L fall. The sections plan events in which everyone is invited. Most people show up to the first few but after they make their friends that “brochure diversity photo” racial mix isn’t realistic. I think it’s kind of patronizing to expect someone to want to hang out with me. Denying the upbringing of minority communities and expecting them to be okay being a token in a group of white folks is kind of the opposite of woke. If someone feels like an outsider, like the OP a few weeks ago who hates it here, that’s pretty damn disconcerting. But expecting some utopia where people don’t see race is just not realistic.
