Why Does it Appear That Logic and Chivalry is Dead in the 21st Century?

It's likely that everyone has heard the term "Chivalry is dead" in reference to the apparent lack of respect and tact that much of the "younger" generation has seemingly lost. Discussions become childish arguments about meaningless subjects, important topics become taboo in our society, and it seems like respect is neither earned, nor given. It seems that a respectful young adult is so rare, that many folks are genuinely impressed at this phenomenon. But is this actually the case? Are youngsters really more wild and disrespectful than they were in days long gone? Are times really that different from the days of T-Birds and greased Lightning? Maybe I'm just too young to notice, but I look at shows like Happy Days and see characters like the Fonz, and I realize that he is just an older version of someone like Justin Bieber. Wild, rogue, and just wanting to have fun while he's young.

Maybe I'm looking too deep into this but I'm genuinely curious as to what exactly is going on with this. Please, be respectful and intelligent with your replies, and don't be a shit stirrer. Nobody likes shit stirrers.
