Does Canada have a disproportionate amount of serial killers?

I feel like you can’t really compare Canada to the US on this. The population of Canada is roughly 37 million people, which is less than the population of California.

I’m not sure if you are Canadian or not but I am, and something that is kind of strange to me is that I had never heard of any Canadian serial killer other than Robert Pickton until I got into true crime and started researching. A majority of these serial killers were caught before I was born but I had never seen anything on the news about Cody Legebokoff or Dellen Millard. Millard’s sentencing was on the news but that is all I saw. They caught Bruce McArthur who is accused of killing 8 people, last year but I’ve seen more on the news about US serial killers than him.

I also feel if the highway of tears murders / missing women’s cases were solved we would have many more known serial killers.
