Why does the earth provide food for us?

you can't prove it doesn't

You can’t prove there isn’t a magical dragon living on the far side of Pluto. It doesn’t mean anything to say you can’t prove a negative. The mark of a good argument is that it’s falsifiable, not that it’s unfalsifiable.

I’m somewhat studied (at least more than the average Joe) in Biology, having spent three years of my life dedicated to it in academia before “starting over” and getting my masters in philosophy instead. I would be happy to explain to you why it is that earth doesn’t provide food for us, but rather why it is that we have evolved (as all biological creatures) in conjunction with food-giving vegetation. And why it is that our human diet is specifically the result of a particular evolution within a particular ecological niche, just as a cow is specifically the result of a separate evolution within a separate ecological niche. Which is why they eat grass, while we are unable to digest it. Just as countless creatures the world over are able to digest things we are unable to digest. There are microbes that have evolved even just in recent times to be able to digest plastic.

As for your apparent offense at some perceived antagonism from me, I wish you’d leave that at the door if we’re going to continue. I genuinely have no idea why you so readily jumped to that. It wasn’t remotely my intention.
