Does everyone suck to begin with? Really getting fed up

You need to completely change your mindset. For example:

I have just had my first 1 hour lesson today and felt so frustrated afterwards. Turns out my grip was completely wrong (I have got my grip from watching YouTube videos) and now I feel like all my time spent down the range and on the course has been wasted.

Don't feel frustrated when you learn you were doing something wrong. Feel relieved that you found out, and you can now work on getting better using that knowledge.

This is really important because you're going to have this happen like 5000 more times, and if you get frustrated then you're not going to make it in this game.

As far as being bad in general, I tell this to all new golfers: Don't get mad, get curious. Be curious as to why you're slicing it, or why you just chunked it, etc. And don't worry if you can't figure it out for a while. Being mad or frustrated will just make you hate the game.

How long did it take you to get to a level you were happy with?

Some people are never get to that point. Love the journey.
