Does gear really have to be this rare? I propose a better solution

I don’t see what problem was fixed by reducing loot.

Loot doesn’t feel any more or less meaningful now than it did back then.

People also cite this problem where m+ invalidated heroic loot but ‘fixing’ this only hurts casual players.

In the past me and friends would gear from m+ and could trade all our heroic raid loot to the raiders in our guild that didn’t do m+ letting them catch up faster.

M+ers still have higher ilvls than the casuals, but now I am hardly trading any loot to them and they’re lagging behind even more, leading to them bottoming out on the metres still 3 weeks into the expansion.

This change had no net benefit for casuals and only harmed the enjoyment of m+ers. Yet a handful of people on reddit exclaim that their shitty ilvl 200 neck dropped from a Halls of Atonement and they swear to god it was the biggest endorphin hit of their whole lives so we have to pretend like this change was great.

I think by the end of the expansion Blizzard will be going back on their decision to reduce m+ loot, judging by the player drop off and the smaller pool of players running keys, this change is not helping activision’s bottom line. I could be totally wrong of course, but most of the players I’ve spoken to in the 600-1.1k bracket hate this change.
