does medication actually work for u?

It worked extremely well for me after some trying a few different types of meds. It took me trying three different medications before I had good results. It was very worth experimenting and being patient with the process.

There are different classes of meds. Not brands, but I mean ones that work with different receptors in your brain.

They will probably try to put you on an SSRI to see if that works, and maybe fiddle with the dose.

These are things like Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac, etc.

They are classified for depression but it’s also the most common thing used for OCD too.

If those don’t work, I really recommend you try a different class before giving up. What helped ME immensely was SNRIs

This is like Effexor and pristiq. Effexor is the one I’m on.

But what worked for me may not work for you. So try whatever the doctor recommends first and then ask to try different classes of meds if they don’t work
