I dont think people stopped listening to trance. More and more trance artists are coming out every day. Aly & Fila hit FSOE 400. Armin hit ASOT 750. Gouryella is back. Cosmic Gate are trying to return to their original sound. Australian trance scene is exploding.

The biggest problem in my opinion, is that trance fans are some of the biggest pricks in the industry. They constantly have this elitism and approach that "trance is the best music". Look enjoy your music, but trance fans are some of the most vocal haters of every other genre of music.

Another problem is that the community is literally always complaining about how much better the past was. Artists who have spent years, lots and lots of years making the most commercial trance decide to change their sound to a commercial big room and people just dont stop complaining. Yeah tiesto, tritonal and dash berlin left trance, so what? How about you guys actually support the new and upcoming names instead of just throwing insults on all the youtube videos.

The community is cancer. In australia, trance = drugs. We literally have an ELITIST music appreciation society with thousands of members that insult anything thats not trance 24/7. Its not even hate on big room. Half the time its shit like "everything electronic on radio is shit", "everything that isnt 138 or above is shit", "why the fuck are eric prydz and deadmau5 at asot, they dont play trance, they are shit", "armin sucks, cant believe armin only is still a thing", "rayel is a cunt". There is so much more hate. Seriously the trance fans are easily some of the rudest people online.

If you want people to like trance, improve the community. This is coming from a fan who loves trance and is going to several trance events this year.
