Those aren’t unreasonable comments. I think the issue is that people of all kinds commit acts of violence every day, for a myriad of reasons. Muslim terrorists are included in this, and harping on the fact that they’re Muslims is problematic in a world where people drive hatred of ALL Muslims based on terrorist attacks.

It also ignores why there is Muslim terrorism - it has much less to do with their religion or race than the fact that we (the west) have occupied, bombed, exploited, and manipulated their countries for years. This would be the more relevant conclusion to draw attention to - perhaps we shouldn’t be destroying these people’s homes if we don’t like terrorist attacks - rather than their religion or race.

I can tell you, as a white American, that I would be ready to commit all sorts of violent acts if a foreign power occupied my state, imprisoned and tortured my friends, killed my family members with a drone strike, destroyed any opportunity to make a comfortable living, etc etc etc. these motivations would have nothing to do with the color of my skin or the god I believe in.
