Why does a post about a sketch artist leaving Reddit get 153,000 upvotes, but some of the top posts about saving the future of the Internet only get around 15-18,000? If we had that level of exposure, this would be much easier.

I understand that Reddit's algorithm will show a highly upvoted post from a subreddit on the front page for a day or less. That's not my discussion point.

The point is that it seems like there is very little attention around something so crucial when another post can get 150k upvotes in just a few hours, obviously the user base is there to make a real difference, but there is not much attention being brought to it for some reason.

Why does that post get 150k upvotes, but posts about NN float around 15-20k when this issue stands to impact the world, really?

If people were showing that kind of attention to these issues, we wouldn't have to fight so hard and people like Pai wouldn't be able to threaten the rules of the internet without consequence.

So why aren't the companies who will be impacted by NN bringing more awareness to the situation?

I'm sure many of the 150k people who upvoted that posts probably don't even realize that their Internet is being threatened and might be willing to do something if they did.
