I don't think you understood that half those questions were rhetorical and in asking the question my point was self-evident. But I can still respect the time it took to respond. So I'll address some you may have misunderstood.
You can say many people are becoming 'disillusioned' and 'annoyed' with the whole lootbox fiasco, but you don't know if it's the majority. I for one, have no issue with lootboxes. My interpretation of the whole EA thing wasn't so much that players were infuriated that the company was trying to make money (gasp), but that as I mentioned earlier, it was a way that real life (money) was going to affect the game (oh no!). People were annoyed that people who had their shit together in the real world might have an advantage at launch.
They do ban waves now and again. Maybe their care is low, but they put in a token effort so they at least care to keep appearances up.
At least we're in agreement here. That's exactly what it is, a way to show action on SE's part. They "ban" the Chinese bots/gil sellers, because it doesn't affect their bottomline. They know those people are just going to make new accounts. I've played FFXI since 2006 and FFXIV since 1.0; I have NEVER heard of just a regular player being banned or even suspended for buying gil. So, again, SE doesn't care.
My viewpoint wasn't an "appeal to the natural", it was simply trying to show you that your opinion on the matter, may not be the majority, nor is it necessarily the better thing to do. Ultimately we both have different vantage points on the subject: I just see it as a video game, unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Something that should be played any way I or others want to play it, as long as it doesn't destroy the game for others. Selling clears affects NO ONE but the buyers and sellers - positively I might add. Generally it's just people that are jealous of said people that get so triggered by it.
Even if your ideal is "I just want to have fun playing a video game," that's a rejection of the cold hard fact that come heat death trillions of years from now you might as well have never been born and the end result would be the same.
Last I read, current projections is like 5 billion years, but I digress.
