Unfortunately, some individuals didn’t feel the same way. :/ The change was made based on ResLife recommendations, student advisory board meetings, and input from Occupancy and Marketing staff. It wasn’t just something the department thought up one day and decided to implement.
The recommendations from ResLife pretty much said individuals who met people randomly on Facebook and roomed together had a higher rate of roommate conflicts and had more often needed to be reallocated
Honestly, it’s ok because you still get a roommate and if you have the same responses on your preference form you could still end up in the same residence community!
