Does weed help or hurt your autism?

I find it helps when I'm alone, but absolutely not when interacting with people.

When alone it kind of gives me a "fuck it" attitude. So when I may be overthinking something, have anxiety or stress, or get caught in bad thought patterns - weed can help me say "fuck it" I'll just watch TV and order a takeaway. And that's a much-needed break. It did give me a little paranoia though, like noises outside or the doorbell going I would worry it was something bad.

But working from home during the pandemic a few times I smoked while I was still on the clock and it would make my anxiety and paranoia skyrocket. I'd make sure to never get TOO high while still on the clock, but even a little gave me a ton of anxiety on calls and even once on a call with a client I had complete brain fog and went somewhat nonverbal which was way more stress than it was worth. Even if I had no calls planned I would still be anxious spontaneous meetings etc... so chose to stop smoking during the day.

I live in a campervan now so cannot smoke, but if I had a house I would smoke every day and I miss it a lot.
