Dog breaks free of harness, unleashing numerous problems

I've had an actual aggressive dog who isn't a stereotypical aggressive breed but was really quick to bite and had an extensive bite history when I got him (never bit anyone during the 12 years I owned him before he passed away of old age, but it took a lot of training and management), and at the same time I had a super-friendly German Shepherd. It always baffled me when people would try to pet my growling, hackles-raised, clearly not happy "cute" dog while also being afraid of my doofy GSD begging for attention, because he "looked scary." I get that GSDs are intimidating-looking dogs, but come on!

I remember one party I held where this one douchebag kept trying to go into the bedroom where I had my biter crated (because, you know, it's not great to have dogs that bite in crowds) despite being repeatedly warned not to because he just couldn't believe that dog would bite him, but also kept freaking out every time my German Shepherd came near him because "those dogs are dangerous!" He was a friend of my partner (at the time, now ex) and I kind of disliked him for a lot of reasons, but having to basically babysit him so he neither provoked my aggressive dog nor tormented my friendly one made me ban him from my house. I was so tempted to just let my dog bite the asshole, but one more bite would have probably gotten him put down so of course I didn't. But damn, that dude deserved to get bit.
