Doing my first new coil builds and running in to some issues with my Kanger Subtank Mini.

First things first. If you're getting into rebuilding, you need:

*an ohm reader *some time with steam-engine *an understanding of battery safety

First one is easy and available in almost all vape stores. Second one is even easier: http://www.steam-engine.org/ . Third one requires you to do some research. Google vaping battery safety, or check out the guides over at planetofthevapes or e-cigaretteforum.

Ok. Now that's out of the way. Throw your build in steam-engine and see what you get. 6 wraps of 30g is probably somewhere between 1.4 and 1.5 ohms, so you weren't too far off with the ohms of the build. Now, in steam-engine, set the 'heat flux' input to 15 watts: http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?r=1.5&hfnw=15&id=2

356 mW/mm2 is a shit-ton of heat flux. Very thin wire makes for a very hot coil, so it's no wonder you're not getting a nice vape from it - a coil like that will only be tolerable in the 7-8 watt range.

Subtanks are designed to take a lot more power than something like the Nautilus. You'll need a more powerful device to use it properly: the subtank likes between 15-30 watts for the stock coils and if you build your own, potentially more. 30 watts should be powerful enough for now though - look at something like the MVP3, which is a very solid little box.

Subtanks are also meant for direct-lung inhales, not mouth-to-lung (like a cigarette) like the Nautilus, so you'll probably also need to adjust how you draw. Mouth hits won't work on a Subtank unless the airflow is all the way closed, and even then it's not great.

Apologies if you're already familiar with any of the above - it's hard to gauge how much someone does (or doesn't) know from your post. Hope this helps!
