Really? I'm not proud of being an asshole. I do it because it get's shit done.

For example, the other day one of my employees thought it was ok to skip work as a convenience. I had to ask him over the phone infront of all the employees as a direct statement.

"Who the fuck do you think you're working for?" "You got 1 hour to get your ass back in the office."

That did the trick. The employee came back (He was trying to secure a loan with the bank, and thought it was ok since he has been doing a stellar job) The rest of the team's efficiency increased, and for some reason I gained their respect...maybe because of my honesty?

But I would be lying if I didn't feel like I crossed a line afterwords and reevaluated whether I could have handled it appropriately.
