Don Lemon, Jim Acosta Expected to Stay at CNN Despite New, More Neutral Direction

Does Chris Licht want to go back to the days of milquetoast "both sides" nonsense that plagued CNN for years, AKA the Wolf Blitzer model? But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that he'd have a preference for that particular type of "centrist" crap, given that he got his start in cable news working with Joe Scarborough. (I bet he's happy to be out of the explicitly anti-Trump environment of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.)

I would contend that the "all opinions are equally valid and must be given the same weight" style of broadcasting harms journalism far more than when reporters present a clearly defined perspective. "Just the facts" is not really even journalism. Reporting context is essential, and sometimes that means calling a liar a liar or a bigot a bigot. If CNN is going to be once again unwilling to offer that sort of assessment, it'll absolutely sink back into the journalistic irrelevance in which it floundered for so long.
