I don’t get the fuss about The Great Gatsby

It is an interest of mine what different educational systems focus on in different countries and I noticed something living in Poland (I am from the US). There is apparently not a focus on zoology at any point during sciences. Not that we study zoology -specifically- at any point in the US but I think there’s a lot of things that sort of culturally contributed to a basic awareness, for example Zoobooks having been a trend. Furthermore, there are possibly artifacts in the Polish language if my friends are to be believed they further convolutes this. For example both snails and slugs are called “ślimak,” leading my well educated, university degree carrying friend to say “a slug is a homeless snail.” I double checked this on translation and that one checked out.

Anyways my friend is great but damn I had to bite my tongue to keep from giggling just a bit at this.
