I don’t mind being a typical housewife

Nothing wrong with that, but maybe do consider that it’s not as cushy a gig as it can look from the outside

I spent ten years staying home with kids and was about loony tunes by the end of it. A lot depends on what the husband can earn and/or what your local support system is like. and if those elements are kind of paltry, the whole thing can really begin to suck, basically.

Anyway, that’s not really meant to discourage you; just try to pick a guy who’s cut out to be a sole breadwinner and who understands the importance of living near some meaningful community.

A dude whose income is low or inconsistent and whose idea of “making the budget work” is sticking his family in some godforsaken exurb is a bad choice for an aspiring housewife: a situation where you have basically zero discretionary income and generally don’t interact w/adults most of the day outside Facebook is how women fall apart in this situation. (Men find this mystifying but they wouldn’t if the shoe were on the other foot)
