Donald Trump and the ‘Banality of Evil’

I don't think Donald fits the bill. He is losing support, people seem to like what he says less and less. Doesn't seem like the Arendtian banality of evil, especially since he won't win the election and gain any power.

Hillary on the other hand seems to do a lot of sketchy things, and everyone seems ok with that. She has normalized a new level of corruption that doesn't bode well for the U.S.

The author of this piece might invoke Orwell, but the happy human face of the Dems is the real Orwellian nightmare. Hillary will win in a landslide, and most will feel ok, because at least she wasn't Trump, and now gay people can buy cakes anywhere, and maybe marijuana is even a little more ok in the eyes of the law, and meanwhile, while everyone is patting themselves on the back, the debt will grow, green energy will not get the boost it needs so our climate will continue to deteriorate, banks will be happy they donated to the Lady in Charge, drone strikes will increase because she wants to look tough like Bill did in Africa, and the middle class will continue to do what it has done for the past 30 years regardless of Dem or Repub president.

That's the banality of evil.
