Donald Trump is normalizing bigotry

I think it's social media that's normalizing bigotry.

Racism was easier to ignore before social media gave everyone a megaphone and a soapbox.

We hear every opinion that wants to be heard now and it turns out that bigotry is still extremely common and even popular.

The politicians, like Trump, are just listening to the people and echoing what "a lot of people are saying" and those people are extremely excited to be finally heard and taken seriously.

The media used to be quite filtered. Now it's just putting peoples tweets on the TV directly... It's becoming an increasingly social media world and much less about ethical journalism. More social media means more normalization of bigotry.

It's the people who are spreading bigotry.

I don't think it's entirely top down. It's not just Trump making people more bigoted. People have always been like this. It's just that now people can share their opinions on social media and are coalescing around like minded people.

If Trump wins it's not going to make people more bigoted.

If Trump loses it's not going to make people less bigoted.

People aren't going to change their minds depending on who becomes president.
