Here is the way I look at it. No matter what, we are all on this Earth for a short, finite amount of time. Consider it a break from the infinite nothing. There is no point in letting this go to waste, and you can have an infinite lasting impact on the universe, so why not make it a good one? Your alteration to the world can be small with large consequences long after you.

Humanity is going somewhere bigger and better. 5 million years from now, no one will be remembered from today and our little stresses will not have mattered, but we may have done something either through philsophy, care, humor, science or w/e to help push us all towards a slightly better direction
