I don't know anything about stocks but I think my company gives me some. Checked this account for the first time in 2 years. What does it mean?

So you’ve got about 10k of stock banked that is sellable. You could trade that into cash right now. I’d look into the stocks and how they’re doing before doing that though. Talk to HR about it.

The other 9k in stock looks like unvested stock. That means its stock given to you over the course of X amount of time, provided you’re still with the company - like a kind of golden handcuffs deal. You’ll need to talk to HR to find out how often that stock vests (how often it moves into your sellable pile of stock).

Folk here can only help so much because this kind of thing (vesting rates of unvested stock) can vary from company to company.

Congrats on finding 10k though!
