It's not a secret sauce, and it's not "my buddies". Look at CEOs, look at politicians, look at the entire damned corrupt world. From fraternities to stonemasons, the entire world is structured around groups of people boosting their own group up. You are literally acting as if the current presidency didn't happen because of his popularity with people rather than his skills and his entire support structure wasn't made up of his buddies instead of experts. You're ignoring the literal world we live in.

Your degree taught you some great theory, I am sure, but it's clear during the process you never saw how the sausage was actually made. Those of us who have seen the backroom and the truth of the shit aren't just saying this stuff because we want to feel cool. For any space in this world. there is a group of people who, by who they're related to or who they're friends with, will have an easier time getting ahead in life.
