I don't buy it that women have body image/self esteem issues.

Well, it’s because they do not have your perception of things. That’s like poor people not grasping how a rich person can be unhappy, yet, we see so many dabbling with addiction or suicide. Also, you’re making this assumption based on swipes on tinder which is ridiculous. This is because you personally dream of being able to do so... it doesn’t mean other people see the value in that. And men it’s not the same for men and women because men are conditioned to think that their status and money is what mainly brings them value. For women it is their looks and youth so that pressure is automatically higher when it comes to looks whether you realize it or not. Also, men can sleep with women they aren’t all that attracted to, men can criticize the bodies of the women they sleep with, men can try to make the women their insecure, toxic men exist and a lot of girls can be mentally affected by those relationships. Other times it doesn’t have to do with men but just being exposed to the media from a super young age, before they even care about men. It’s quite common for little girls to start being self-conscious way before entering the dating world.
