I don't even know anymore...

So I guess the main issue with George Washington was deeper than "he owned slaves." Moreso how he owned slaves.

The main point that I can make about Washington is that while he is known as the only founding father to have "freed his slaves" that's not entirely the case. In fact, it is the opposite. He would move his enslaved people from state to state that did not allow slavery but had provisions (I am referring to New York and Philadelphia) which stated an enslaved person would be freed once they had been in a northern state for 3 years.

So he kept his slaves enslaved by rotating them between his multiple estates, many of them dying in his service. This sort of treatment also led to a pattern of separating families regularly. He only freed his slaves in his will.

Jefferson was way worse to be fair. He wrote a shitload of literature which was used to justify slavery, and by modern standards was a rapist pedo who knocked up his 15 year old slave girl in Paris.
