Don't follow, lead

Morality is just what’s considered right and wrong or good and bad behavior. That good or bad behavior is considered good or bad for a reason. That reason often being that it’s beneficial to an organism, or the opposite. Not always, but generally more often than not. Especially in more intelligent life forms. If a wolf does something that negatively effects the pack, for example, it’s going to be shown that it’s behavior is bad by the other wolves.

In human civilizations, morals dictate laws, which are the result of doing what’s best for the whole, or at least so the whole can live in some sort of of harmony. I agree though, nature is a collective of individuals working for their own benefit. Along with that though, there are a number of feedback loops that ensure that it’s various systems find equilibriums as well, as a noticeable principal, across the whole of nature.

There’s a lot of balance, and harmony in nature, across the board. Especially life, but even in physics. Things balance out, mathematically.
