We Don't Hate Sluts; We Just Recognize Their Low Value

If I understand you, what you're saying is that betas, by marrying women who have slept around in their twenties...

...the betas themselves are causing the fabric of society to fall apart?

Who's being reductionist now?

First... beta males aren't a new thing. Neither are sluts and... neither is the wall or people settling for a plan B when they can't find anything better. The thing you're describing is people SETTLING. The worst is... it's mutual. She's settling. He's settling. How long till that becomes a resentful little clusterfuck?

When you see that shit, you should recognize it for what it is and feel sorry for them... Not in a charitable kind of way, but in the way that you feel when you see a dog that's been hit. (Or maybe a dog that's playing on the freeway... better metaphor?)

If you want to dig into the root cause analysis, the issues are far bigger than betas and sluts... the real issues are when we, as a society, incentivize people for doing shit that is individually and socially destructive. And I'm against that. I'm also against disincentivizing people from doing things that would support and prop up a society. Things like getting married and having a family. -We're on the same page there.

I think, personally, that this problem stems from liberal democracy itself. (read that as liberal as in classical liberal not neo liberal / progressive) The problem, and we're all kind of aware of this, is that the mass man really isn't equipped to rule himself. As a result, there's always going to be a regression to the mean, as everyone looks out for their own short sighted interests.

I'm certainly not saying that to say that I'm in favour of some sort of authoritarian approach. I recognize the problem, but I'm not so arrogant as to think I have the solution. It seems to me that the problem of government is one of the most complex problems there is.

Having said all that... I'm libertarian enough that I feel that vices aren't crimes and that it's no one's business to police the neighbors. The general reasoning is something like this:

-Crimes are defined as something that causes harm to your neighbor or his property. -Vices are defined as something that may cause harm to yourself, but no one else. -Vices, taken in small doses, seem to increase happiness. Taken in larger doses, seem to provoke misery. -Part of what makes life worthwhile is the pursuit of happiness. -It's hard to know how at what point vices turn from happiness inducing to misery provoking. -And... it's different from person to person. -So, the only person who can decide is you... not the government, not the neighbor.

Sex is certainly a vice for women. And... it is for men, too. Everyone's got to figure out for themselves where to draw that line.

Personally, I'm not sure I'd want to marry a virgin. Statistics alone don't convince me, because a girl who's reached her mid twenties and is still a virgin is probably broken. At the same time, I won't even entertain the thought of sleeping with a girl if she's fucking around enough. I mean... I think she's got every right to do as she pleases, but I'm not jumping on that grenade.

And, along those lines... a beta guy who wants to slip a ring on her finger... a girl I probably wouldn't even fuck... I mean... what is there to say about that guy? I certainly can't hate him. I just feel like he's lost the plot.

To bring it all around... What's the thread title? "We don't hate sluts, we just recognize their low value." --Go ahead and expand that: "We don't hate betas, we just recognize their low value."
