Beauty is what gets the ball rolling typically while personality and connection seals the deal.

Point is, beauty standards constitute that the straight hair—typically associated with white people and other races—is more sought after.

To compete in the market, wigs are worn by AA women and they typically straighten their hair.

As a black man, I love my black women’s hair as I love my own but somewhere, many of them were taught not to love their own.

Media, upbringing and terms like “nappy” probably don’t help much.
