I had a 20Mbps DSL connection with them. They told me my area had fiber and that they now offer 40Mbps for half what I'm paying. Fuck yeah, I'm all for it. The tech comes out to do the job and has no idea what I'm talking about when I mention the fiber. All he's doing is doubling up the DSL lines to my house and merging them for a 40Mbps line. Fine, it's cheaper and faster.

Anyway, about 2 months down the road I'm hit with 2 different CenturyLink bills with 2 different totals and 2 different accounts, but both under my name...and one of them was late with late fee's tacked on. They had opened a second account for me in order to give me the new customer discount without telling me and now I had 2 accounts, one which hadn't been used in 2 months....

This took several hours and departments to finally cancel my old account AND cancel the charges and fees. They told me that fiber would be run in my area in the near future though, and they will offer a gigabit. Of course I want that....hopefully they don't fuck me in the future. If only I had any alternative choices, but they have a monopoly in my area.
