Men don't use the word "crazy" just to refer to legitimately abusive behavior, but that's one way it can be used. It's almost too vague of a word that it can characterize anything from your gf who's mad that you didn't call back to somehow legitimately abusive, to someone with a clear mental illness. It's either a stigmatizing or gaslighting word when referring to the first and third examples.

I think your example is much better since it's not a) stigmatizing actually mentally ill people and b) it's not reducing anyone to their genitalia. Just the idea of "sticking yourself into something" makes it seem like the person is an inanimate object whose consent doesn't matter.
