Don't be rude when people are being nice.

In paragraph form:

I work on the maintenance crew at a local fast food chain next to my university, we have a fairly nice clientele and a lot of regulars. But every so often you get the people that think a fast food chain is like I sit down restaurant. So this woman and her family came in ordered, got their food, sat, and ate.

Normal enough right, well I like to go and take the customers trays when they are finished so they don't have to, it's mostly so my tables don't have trash left on them while I'm cleaning something else but I digress.

Anyway I was making my normal try rounds and had both hands full when this bitch scoffs at me and begins talking loud enough so I can hear her say "well it would sure be nice if we were special enough to have our trays taken too!" I tried to think nothing of it as I went back to grab their trays too but when I asked if I could get them out of the way she said "do I look like I'm done eating?!" To which I replied after viewing her tray of trash, "yes ma'am but I can give you some more time if you want."

There was some minor back and fourth and her husband even apologized for her rudeness. I came back around to take the tray about 5 minutes later and she just yelled at me "where were you, this table is filthy!?" I just apologized and took the trays.

Here's where revenge happens. I overheard her saying that she really had to pee, I don't know why she didn't go before or in the middle of eating, but I heard this and thought, "now is a great time to clean the bathrooms." And it actually was because we were dead slow in the store except the bitch and her nice family.

I filled the mop bucket and gathered my supplies which takes maybe 5 minutes, she still didn't go, and I walk over to the bathroom and knock on the door to see if any women were in there before I entered. Set up my restroom closed sign and began bleaching the toilets. About 10 minutes into cleaning I hear steps come into the restroom, I figured it was an employee or my manager.

It was her, and I said sternly "ma'am there are chemicals down in here and you don't have a mask, please step out." She gave a snide remark on how I was a loser and would be doing this the rest of my life. I snapped and said "you know nothing about me, I am a junior in college majoring in Marketing, I already have an internship lined up with a military contractor, and i only work here during the semester."

She grew silent, then angry. She went straight to the manager and told him I cussed her out (manager heard whole transaction in restroom) he said "ma'am I know you're lying and he is one of our best employees (I think he was just sticking up for me on that) and you have been rude to him the whole time and he has been patient with you. Never come in my store again!"
