I don't want the student loan forgiveness but actually I do want it because my degree is more important than this degree I made up.

In terms of not receiving a return on your investment:

Almost any art degree Psychology Music Education (this is unfortunate, teachers deserve to be paid way more) Some languages Criminal justice Anthropology History Gender studies Entrepreneurship Communications

I'm talking purely in terms of receiving a better quality of life as a result of your efforts via monetary gain. I think everyone should continue on after high-school because an education is the only thing that cannot be taken from you without destroying you. But.... it's piss poor financial planning if you're taking on copious amounts of debt to achieve it.

I have no gripe with any of those fields or degrees (except maybe Entrepreneurship), but if your goal is to become self sufficient and you are realizing you need to accept the financial risk (debt with no promise of lucrstive work) that comes with obtaining a degree, those would not be my first choice.
