I don't think that there is an answer to that

Life is merely a chemical reaction of converting commonly occurring chemicals into biological matter.

The biological matter which sustained life i.e. spontaneity of the chemical reaction, were able to maintain themselves and hence didn't perish. We can say that those biological matters employed better chemical reactions.

The biological matter which had even better chemical reactions were able to produce even more biological matter hence making even more biological matters employing reactive and spontaneous chemical reactions.

So the meaning of life is a chemical reaction to produce more biological matter. All we are is that chemical reaction. In short we call it reproduction, either it being reproduction of our cells or another human.

This is why it is so hard to convince people to be anti-natalists. They are the biological matter descended from successful biological matters designed to reproduce. Very few are able to realize the non-consensual nature of reproduction and hence are able to be anti-natalists. Even reasoning is an instinct allowing us to reproduce but ironically instinct is what allows us to reason against our nature of reproduction.
