I don't want to be viral please :(((

Read the comment below by /u/highwaydrive00. They do take it seriously - when they see it as harassment. But there are lots of times when people view this kind of behaviour as par for the course. Every woman has stories like this, plural. Sure, when we tell those stories, some people are horrified. Others, though, want to believe it's not really as big of a problem as it is, so it's easier to think that women are exaggerating or outright lying and brush it off. I can't tell you the kind of shit I've dealt with at work - colleagues joking about fucking me on the boardroom table, telling me they wanted to put their dick in my mouth, asking me which finger I'd prefer to be fingered with. ALL of these were said in front of people; some of them were said while we were literally in meetings. Guess how many people said, "Hey, shut up, that's disgusting and inappropriate." Exactly zero. "It was just a joke" or "That's what this industry is like" or "You do things to make men think that's appropriate" - those have all been said to me. The volume at which this happens is much larger than people imagine, but it's easier to ignore it than it is to face how often it actually happens.
