Don't know what to do

I went to an expensive college when I was 18. I took out tons of loans to cover it ($65k) and didn't even get my degree. The great recession began while I was in school so jobs were nearly unavailable and loans became harder and harder to get. I joined the marines at 22 to be able to finish my degree. I'm now in my last 4 courses of my degree and I haven't paid a dime for any of it besides parking. I actually get paid to go to school. I can understand wanting to be an officer, but if you don't have a way to pay for school it is going to eat more resources than you are able to come up with.

Either you need to switch to a cheap school (at least for your prereqs), take loans out and get cut off from your parents (I strongly advise against this), or enlist and earn your GI bill. If you enlist, those 4 years will still count towards your officer time in service if you still choose to become an officer after getting your degree. I wish I had joined at 18 instead of burying myself in debt. I've since paid it off and am doing very well, but I always wonder how much better I would be if I hadn't had to take it out.
