I hope your issues improve but FYI you can always ask primary to send you to a bum-doctor to double check that sphincter. Sometimes having a doctor tell you, “It is nothing” can be highly reassuring. Medical anxiety is a real thing and it presents more often after acute trauma like yours (in my own experience, this was not fact checked).

Also if you ask your primary and they “want to see” you can always say you’re not comfortable with that and you want as few people touching you as necessary. Let them know ONE PERSON gets to touch you, so if they skip the referral and look for themselves they better be DAMNED sure they know every possible thing that could be diagnosed in that region.
