‘Doomsday glacier’ in Antarctica melting due to warm water channels under surface, scientists discover

Yeah dude, extinctions of this magnitude are basically forever, geologically speaking and in reference to human experience of time. Ecological collapse is the ultimate consequence I think we all hope to mitigate, but the problem itself is hard to fathom as it occurs both over massive landscapes and tiny point specific locations simultaneously and dynamically, that our even our most advanced technologies and science barely scratch at its surface. Realistically, developing and enacting solutions requires both concerted and omnipotent efforts, that for any tangible efficacy to occur we need almost a miracle. But I agree, what can you do? Give up and die, or stand and do your damnedest for that Hail Mary pass? Stranger and less probable things have happened in history, and there is still the great unknown, so I too prefer the latter.
