There is no place within the US where two people can afford to raise 8 children, if they are not in the top 5% of income earners. Doesn't matter how you massage the numbers, doesn't matter how efficient they are with resources, doesn't matter if they hand down clothes, doesn't matter how good they are with meal prepping or anything. Financially meeting responsibilities of raising 8 people for 18 years (let's be real, 20 to 24 years) is not doable. And that is sad. I was born into poverty in a family with half of that, and life was very tough for much longer than my childhood. It's irresponsible of them and wrong to subject such poverty onto children.
