Dota 2 english viewership is stagnating and here is why

Well to a certain extent I agree, it's hard to root for certain teams but the personalities that make up each team is what you are rooting for. ex) EE/Bigdaddy for Cloud9, Dendi/Xvost for Na'Vi, SingSing for whatever team he's currently in. IMO, it's when there's no steady roster that last for more than a few months that hurt the scene. Also not sure if that's the reason why players can't stick together, I think it's more on chemistry, playstyle, clash of egos, etc. You can be good but if you cannot find that sync then it's hard to be consistent. EG also had many roster changes too and that paid off. Did you forget that EG as a brand was once known to be huge throwers? EG changed rosters, looked for talent and played hard to get to where they are. EG kept being consistent, stayed relevent and played hard. If we really want to improve the NA/EU scene then there needs to be more scouting for players, the skill level of players need to improve, a place like NEL for lower level teams and better incentives.

I disagree with your idea that TI shouldn't be crowd-funded, do you see why that also contradicts your idea that items need to have higher value so people can bet more so in return more viewership? That prizepool alone probably brought millions more people to watch, same idea with item betting. It's an inflation of the core audience since people who bet don't care about the teams themselves but who has the better chance to win. The two things take different approaches, IMO including TI, there needs to be majors like we see in CS:GO. Teams will only get better and more stable as the scene continues.

It's just survival of the fittest at this point until Valve introduces more DAC events INCLUDING The International or a circuit type of thing. You act like 20k views are a little, those numbers you see are a pin in a haystack of many streamers who get about 1k and even that's a lot to those who get far fewer. I also think more pro players should stream consistently but that's just me and we're slowly seeing that improvement.
