Doug Ford says defunding police would be a ‘massive, massive error’

Many are in a "fuck the police mood," thus are willfully ignorant of the reality. The RCMP were already crying for people before the recent protests/riots broke out and their pay is very good. Being an RCMP can be good, but, it can just as easily be fucking awful. I know more than a few cops who were posted way up north and lived in communities where they weren't wanted and couldn't even go into town without being approached by someone. It's not an easy thing being a cop in a big city, let alone a small town where everyone knows who you are. Imagine going to a bar/restaurant with your friends or family and people starting shit with you when you're off work, and yes, it does happen a lot.

The other side of the problem is that while people are screaming to defund the police they're also demanding to increase training... training which is already made to be as efficient as possible to reduce costs. Canadian police more often than not are woefully unequipped to the lack of budget, hell, during the Moncton shooting many didn't even have kevlar vest because the budget couldn't afford it.
