Downvotes wouldn't surprise me, but my motive is only a discussion. What is your opinion on chess.com hiring all the popular chess personalities?

JB has hinted he can't stream from lichess

I guess you missed the huge thread a few days ago. There is no "hinting". JB has straight up signed an exclusivity contract- and has said so.

There is nothing shady about that. That's how sponsorships work in the real world. Examples are Nike paying basketball players to wear their shoes, or energy drinks paying people to only drink their drink, or gas companies paying drivers to only promote their brand.

Those athletes payed by Nike can't just go out on the court wearing Adidas because they feel like it.

Chess.com is a business and isn't handing out donations- they are looking for partnerships.
