Doing conventional rituals in dreams is quite ineffective in my exp. Everytime I do even the most simple thing IRL, there will be some effect, in dream this is not the case or it's more subtle.

I rather did it the other way around, via sigils in life I tried to 'hack' into and suggest certain dream-contents. I did that eg with some Lovecraft Mythos stuff. At the time I was trying out the LBRP daily and had some first exps w lucidity as well. I then had met a some sluglike superentity in dream in a cave of a greater cave underground (later I leanred that those caves were probably qlipothic spongelike intimative structures), I wanted to get rid of it and did a certain vers of the LBRP that had been astrally suggested to me and involved very scathing fiery-redish geometries, I really went sluggishly and with the greatest unease and effort through the thing in dream but it was so slow and the entity slowed me down further. The ritual itself impeded my progress in dream cause when I had finally gone through it, I made an immense act of will and I guess that only by that was I finally released and most strangely catapulted in my room OBE and then traipsing around only entered my body and woke up. This is extremely rare IMO.

You can become lucid in dream and it's a good and necessary exercise but dream isn't all of the unconscious and will definitely not be translated into 1-1 'results' in life. Of course it happens often that you have prophetic precognitive dreams and the normal cathartic ones that process unresolved issues in your life. The good thing about lucidity is apart form the fun you have the resulting background awareness that you will obtain by it in your normal dreams in that you choose not to interfere; cause once being able to change some dream content you may want to let them run on automatic again so to access deeper layers.

You know, one prominent occult theory says that 'the astral' is being once removed from the world and that what is manifested in the astral will start to manifest in the world (this calssical GD stuff I believe), so rather than looking into dreams you may want to research that so called astral. One more thing: many sorcerers will suggest to you that entities and demons and their evocation and the like is the begin all end all of magic, but consider this: all this astral stuff is actually only located on the sephira Yesod which is quite low on the Tree, and albeit it being surely the magically moon world of illusion, there is much much more above it.

It is certainly true that very many pracitioners will only deal w that spephira and have great results and be content with it, for most effects controlling or influencing the world this may be sufficient, yet on the one hand it isn't as easy as it seems (cause for efficiency you better had an understanding up to Tifereth (see the HGA stuff of AC or the concept of the classical monotheistic God (by the Powa of God!) in certain grimoire receptions through whom you alledgedly control the demoniac forces), not to speak of the adjacent Hod and Netzach that are all connected to it, but you will have to at some point ask yourself whether this is enough for you or not.
