Driver's of visually and physically quick cars, do see other motorists try to "show you up"?

Had a guy see me passing in the left lane (after sitting behind 4 cars below the speed limit in the right lane), he pulled out in front of me, hit his brakes and matched the speed of the car in the right lane while glaring at me in his mirrors. After a block the lead right lane car slowed to turn, so i under took him as he was matching the lead car.

This did not sit well with him. Me calling him a loser as I passed, probably did not help.

After the pass, it goes from city to highway speeds, and shortly after is a pretty normal spot for cops to do radar enforcement. I knew this, and stuck to a bit over the limit (I knew that radar spot focuses on excessive [40km/h over the limit] speeders). In my mirror i could see him accelerating hard, he had to gain 30km/h to match the speed limit, but more importantly he wanted to pass me/ride my ass, and he was closing the gap fast.

We hit the radar spot, and the cop comes out lights & sirens, I start to pull over as I was speeding (not excessive) and I can see him laughing at me in his car. But the cop goes right past me and pulls in behind him, directing him to the curb lane. He was obviously excessive (40km/h over) which meant a big ticket, and 3 day impound of his car.

I would have loved to hear that conversation after he was pulled over. Driving / riding sport bikes for 15 years, never a ticket yet, and thought for sure I was getting one for doing 15km/h over.
