As Drone Whistleblower Daniel Hale Pleads Guilty, Advocates Warn of 'Profound Threat' to Free Press | "Using the Espionage Act in this way to prosecute journalists' sources as spies chills newsgathering and discourages sources from coming forward with information in the public interest."

We should NEVER be prosecuting whistle blowers. In fact, we should not only encourage this, but require this of anyone with knowledge. That is, you are required under federal law to blow the whistle on ANYTHING that ANY government agency is doing that is illegal. Failure to do so, SHOULD be met with legal consequences. Why do we not hold government officials accountable for breaking the law? I also think that we need to repeal the Espionage Act.

We need to encourage more people to speak the truth to power like Daniel Hale, Edward Snowden, Reality Winner, and Chelsea Manning. Without the truth, we have seen the results of nefarious government actors doing whatever they want in the darkness and with no one to say anything.
