I would finish the degree. I live in Seattle and see the IT FOMO all the time. People think they'll get a C/S degree or go to boot camp and then be rolling in money. What they fail to understand is that in big High Tech areas like Seattle, etc. There are SO many talented people...you'll never even be in line for those jobs. At least not until you have years and years of experience to go with the education. A lot of entry level IT doesn't pay well either. And if you move to a smaller market...you're not getting the pay or the same access to opportunities either.

It is super competitive for good High Tech positions. And a boot camp and a four year degree aren't usually enough anymore. You have to be very good, with experience or recommendations to back it up.

So if this sounds like why you're thinking of ditching your psych degree...maybe think about it some more.
