I have two versions of drow in two campaign settings.

In the first they are Spider-Elves, four eyed, short, bulky, they have no gods because they have no culture. Their continent was overtaken by whas is effectively a "plague" that converted everything into feral monsters.

A Dwarven colony recovers the elves of this continent, and uses magic to fix their minds and re-awaken them. They are a recovering people.

In the second campaign setting, Drow are "Subterranean Elves" and are albino, with Red eyes, and they always look wet. They have lost all pigmentation from living underground, and they have scorpion iconography instead of spider. I haven't expounded upon them as much.
